In 1998 I was a Sports Videographer / Producer for WNDS TV, Derry. Yes, the Al Kaprielian channel. Sports Director, Mike DeBlasi talked station management into giving out monthly awards to top student athletes in the state. The ST.A.R (STudent Athlete Recognition) Award was born. That award has us traveling from Derry to Portsmouth and Keene to Berlin, recognizing deserving candidates at every stop.

One day we pulled in to Manchester Central High School to interview this QB Dynamo named Ryan. We talked to some teachers, his Principal and his Coach. Everyone spoke of how this kid was special and going places.

After a Great High School career he took his talent to Durham New Hampshire. He would lead the UNH Wildcats to their best records in team history. Lead by Head Coach Sean McDonnel and Offensive Coordinator Chip Kelly. Yes, THAT Chip Kelly.

After graduating College Ryan followed Chip Kelly to various schools coaching various positions. Ryan Day even was QB coach for the Philadelphia Eagles and San Fransisco 49er, both under Kelly.

This past Monday, Day, now the Head Coach of THE Ohio State called plays in the National Championship Game. And although OSU came up short the team is in the right hands with the kid form Manchester New Hampshire at the helm. Congrats on a great Season !!!!
