We have been getting a lot of questions about our policy on the ability of in-school students to stay home and log on remotely on any particular day. In an effort to reach more parents we are posting information here.
If your child is an “In School Student” the daily expectation of administration and their teachers is that they be physically in the classroom for instruction. While we do have remote learning set up and accessible for remote students it is not always feasible for teachers to be prepared for an In School Student to show up remotely at the last minute. This shift affects what the teacher has scheduled for instruction and learning activities planned for students in the classroom vs those who work remotely. When students go remote at the last minute we also run the risk of having an inaccurate accounting of who is “present” in classes vs. present in the building in the case of an emergency which can lead to a very unsafe situation. For these reasons we have had to be very thoughtful in the way we approach this unique year of attendance in schools. If for some reason your child is unable to make it into school on any given day the process is the same as in past years, call the main office at 603-546-0300 and leave a message on the absence line with your child’s name and reason for the absence. They will be marked “notified” absent for the day. If your child’s teachers then have a google meet open for their class and allow your child to log on on that day they are more than welcome to do so, however, not all teachers will be prepared to do so. If they are unable to log on, they will simply make up the work as they would have after an absence on any other school year. We know that there is a lot of information to be taken in and sifted through this school year, we hope that this clears up some of the confusion. Please feel free to reach out to the email addresses listed above if you have any questions. If you could share this information with any Campbell parents who are not on this page we would greatly appreciate it!
