This is the Friday March 5, 2021 Litchfield Covid update.

This week is the one year anniversary since the first Covid-19 positive case was reported in the State of New Hampshire. April 27, 2020 marked the first significant number of covid positive cases (19) found in Litchfield. The town on the one year anniversary marked Tuesday March 2nd had a total of 545 positive cases. The current total for the town since it began last year stands at 550 cases total.

During the past week the COVID numbers in Litchfield have increased from last week but continue to stay level with previous weeks for daily active numbers.  The 10-day period active cases increased from 10 to 19 active cases. During the last week there were 15 new cases with each day reporting new cases. Last week there were 6 cases marking a significant increase for this week. The total count currently being monitored in the E911 system continues to drop from 36 down to 29 cases. **This number reflects both other family members of a known positive covid tested person who may have been infected as well as those who are infected and stay home without seeing a doctor or being tested. This is a best guess estimate which keeps previous people with multiple family members on the E911 list for a slightly longer period of time to provide a small buffer to add protection to police and fire first responders**.

Be safe, stay well and keep healthy!
