Press Release:  Appointment of New Principal at Litchfield Middle School

On Wednesday, September 1, 2021 the members of the Litchfield School Board unanimously appointed Jennifer Grantham as Principal of Litchfield Middle School.  Ms. Grantham will replace longtime school administrator, Mr. Tom Lecklider, as soon as she is released from her current contract with the Hudson School District.

Ms. Grantham was selected from a field of more than a dozen applicants.  A team of district staff selected two qualified and vetted finalists, and both of the finalists interviewed with teachers, support staff, administrators, parents and students.  Based on a lengthy review and feedback process, Ms. Grantham was the clear choice to be the next leader for our Litchfield Middle School community. 

“Jen will bring a strong educational background to our school community.  As an experienced teacher and technology coach, she knows how to prepare students and staff as 21st century learners.  We are fortunate she is joining our team, and are excited to work with her as she helps guide LMS to a higher level of quality” stated Mike Jette, Litchfield Superintendent of Schools.

Since 2018, Ms. Grantham has served as an Assistant Principal at Hudson Memorial School.  She also served this past summer as the Summer Scholars Principal for the  Hudson School District.  She began her teaching career in the Nashua School District in 1997 serving as a K-6 teacher including teaching in grades 5 and 6.  While serving as a K-8 Technology Teacher Coach, she trained teachers in how to implement technology across all subjects and content areas.

At Hudson Memorial School, Ms. Grantham: Assisted with general operations for a grades 6-8 middle school educating over 700 students; Facilitated master scheduling and competency grading through PowerSchool; Supervised approximately 88 professional staff; Collaborated with the district leadership team to create a behavior matrix that relied on PBIS principles; and, Trained in the use of iReady to help monitor and ensure individual student growth.

In 1996, Ms. Grantham earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Elmira College in Elmira, NY, and further earned a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University in 2021. 

Ms. Grantham is the proud mother of three children and is a long-time resident of southern NH. Outside of school Ms. Grantham enjoys traveling and attending musical theater events. She is looking forward to working with students, staff, families and administrators to help Litchfield Middle School maximize its potential.
